Big Changes Ahead!!

09th December 2024
Hi Everyone!

It has been a long while since I updated my website. Life has a habit of throwing curveballs at you from time to time and my life has had lots of additional threads to stitch! But stitching is what I thrive on, whether it's actual or proverbial, so it's all good!

I have, however been looking at making some big changes in the way I work and what I can offer in the way of teaching options.

My two regular classes are a joy and will continue in the same way as they have been.
Workshops will be on offer in the new year, as I am currently looking at locations - ideally one Saturday each month, with a variety of subjects being covered. I have been researching traditional hand stitching methods from around the world and would love to pass some of this on, so some of the workshops will be including subjects such as Kantha, Kawandi and Sashiko stitching methods.

I will also be adding more videos to my You Tube library. This is where the big changes will happen. As some of you know, I renovated a little barn behind my cottage and over the past couple of years, have spent time either organising it or stitching in it! The idea was to film a lot of makes in there, but time and extra work commitments have made this really challenging.

I have also been aware that my work/life balance has not been the best and I wanted to address this and simplify my life...

So... I'm selling up and moving myself, my Rosie dog and my workshop onto a narrowboat!
This is something I have dreamt of doing for at least 14 years, but now the time is right. I will have so much more time to work, film and make on the boat, and the other areas of my life can still be managed in a far less stressful way.
I will be documenting this move on my You Tube channel so if you'd like to keep me company, please subscribe - I will make a brand new playlist for this!

I am beyond excited to be starting this new adventure and look forward to opening up more stitching opportunities with the flexibility this life will allow.

I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year, and wish the best for you all.

Kay and Rosie
